Be True Always!

This week was a little slower than the rest. We had a lot of errands to run for the Zone which is part of the assignment. We've also had great lessons with the members of the wards also. Many members are thinking of people to reach out to with love. We had to take Greg off date this week because we can't get in contact with him. We are still trying to get in and talk to him. Barbara and Maya, the other two we have on date, are doing well. They won't make their date of July 9th because they missed church this past Sunday, but they still seem sincere and want to be baptized. We unfortunately weren't able to get in contact with many of our progressing people but we're going to try harder this coming week. A little slower of a week but all is well.

For this week's spiritual experience it was during lunch on Sunday. I had extra time during lunch and so I decided to put on a byu Devotional by Elder Holland titled "are you true?" He spoke a lot about having respect for the image and dignity for the principles of the Gospel. He brought up the example of Elder Featherstone who said that he wouldn't give a priesthood blessing without putting on a suit first. This does not mean that the blessing would not work if he wasn't wearing a suit, it just shows his respect for the power of the priesthood. Towards the end of the talk he shared an experience from a recent convert where she had dropped a Book of Mormon in school. A few girls noticed and asked her if that was a church book. She responded and said yes. Then they asked from which church. Then the convert told them it was from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Then the girls responded by saying are you true? The convert said yes with more confidence this time than the other previous responses. Elder Holland then started to talk about the importance of being true to our religion and not a Sunday Christian only. We need to be committed members of Christ's church. We need to be true always. It was an inspiring talk that I think will be with me as I go home. I will now ask myself am I true? I should always be. We should always have respect for the principles of the Gospel and live in such a way that people won't be shocked to find out that we're members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints.
