Merry Christmas!

Image
Monday December 27, 2021 Hello everyone! This week has been a crazy one as well. We had Christmas so that was cool. It was a normal proselyting day besides the fact that we got to have an extra hour of exercise. We also were able to watch a movie after 7pm. We had 4 movies to choose from, and so we watched the witnesses. That was a good movie. We also went on exchanges on the 24th and I went with an Elder named Elder Earl. He's pretty much a wizard with the scriptures. He knows like everything. All of our lessons fell through so that was rough. We ended up just contacting for 8 hours in a row. That was pretty crazy. No dinner and no brakes. That's probably what normal missionary work felt like before Covid haha. Being a YSA missionary is pretty different not gonna lie. We do a ton of street contacting right now because we don't work too much with the YSA since it's the holiday season and a bunch are either out of town or with family anyways.  There was a guy we found l...

Busy Busy!!

Monday December 20, 2021 This week has been super duper busy! Elder Bird and I and working super well together. We have tons of meetings and a lot of extra stuff to do. Nonetheless we still are grinding and Finding a lot of people. We found a guy named Ethan like a week ago and he is progressing well. He's super logical and kind of has trouble feeling the spirit. That's what we're trying to help him recognize now.  Oh yea, we had a baptism this past week as well. His name was Kyle. My first few days in the area we put him on date for Friday. His baptism was massive. We had to move everyone to the chapel. There was 150 people in attendance and then 30 more viewing on zoom. Was a great baptism for sure! Then we also found this one girl named Keosha. We're thinking of putting her on date soon. She accepts everything we teach her. We also contacted this on girl named Reina. She's a young person moving to Tempe soon I think. Anyways we asked her if she knew about our Ch...

AP and New Area

Monday December 13, 2021 Hello everyone! I've just been transferred to a YSA area. I'll be in this area for the rest of my mission. So it'll fun working with a lot with young people that are my age! We have a lot of meetings and the first few days in the area I've just been grinding on a lot of little things. Right now we're in a trio until tomorrow when Elder Schmoekel goes home. My new companion for the next few transfers is Elder Bird. He's from Seattle, Washington and he's awesome. These past few days we've been really busy, but also super successful. We found 14 people this week and 6-7 we from just yesterday alone. It was a crazy day haha.  I now live in another mansion with a guy named Clyde Bawden. He's a famous piano player. Look him up, you'll probably enjoy his music! We have a super busy week ahead of us here. We pick up the new missionaries tomorrow, then well have a lot of trainings and directing traffic and such, so we'll see ...

Assistant to the Mission President

Image
Monday December 6, 2021 Elder McMullan didn't email today, but he did call.  We talked for quite a long time before he told me that he was called to be A.P.  ( Assistant to the Mission President)  Crazy, since Tim served as A.P on his mission as well.  Even crazier since out of a few hundred missionaries, there are only 2.  President Andrews told Jackson that he has been impressed with Jackson from the very beginning.  His strong testimony, his work ethic, his extreme faith, his humility and his ability to connect to all Missionaries are just some of the things he mentioned.  Jackson is excited and a tad over whelmed at the idea, but didn't hesitate.  He's excited to get to work closely with and get to know all the missionaries better.  Usually A.P's are called for 4 transfers, but Elder McMullan will be in for over 5 transfers.  (The duration of his mission) He'll have to train a new A.P and he'll also have to train the new Missio...
